Scrolling through the local radio-scape Louise listens to radio via headphones. She imitates what she hears instantly and intuitively using her voice only. Sort of melting together with her radio she acts as a living loudspeaker. “rrrrrrrrrrrrrrzzzz... I am radio” is a vocal piece giving us an insight into how we listen and perceive radio and the sounds we hear. “rrrrrrrrrrrrrrzzzz... I am radio” is a new piece produced for “Works of radio #4” and a part of Louises latest series of sound works in which she lets human beings take over the roles of machines and embody musical instruments.

“Works of radio #4”
Once a year The Lake commissions new pieces of radio art from visual artists, composers, and writers. The pieces are created specifically for The Lake’s radio stream. Each year the pieces are premiered at a public listening event in Copenhagen, with the presence of the participating artists.
